The difference between them is ‘Stucco’ is an exterior finish were ‘Plastering’ is an interior finish. Every application is different. We will recommend what we think is the best application depending on your situation, property, and weather conditions. Traditionally, we recommend for stucco applying 3-coats as a solid foundation that saves cost without comprising durability, looks, or quality

Plaster, Stucco, and EIFS are not the same. Plaster is an interior finish, more similar to drywall. Stucco is an exterior finish with a solid cement/sand base either over the top of a CMU block or wood sheathing. EIFS is an exterior finish that uses expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam as the base with a synthetic stucco finish as the final coat, meaning it doesn’t have to be painted after installation as the color is in the final coat.

We can stucco over any existing painted stucco wall with proper preparation. You can also paint over an existing painted stucco surface with proper preparation and a knowledge set of hands and eyes to ensure the correct materials and processes are used to ensure a smooth quality finish so the job is done once and right..

Stucco will typically take between 15-60 days to fully cure and dry. How long stucco takes to cure depends on factors such as the weather or heat, both of which can also affect how fast plaster cures. You can generally tell when stucco it is cured when it all becomes a consistent gray color without water or dark spots.

With proper maintenance and professional attention, stucco can last a lifetime and be well worth the investment. Stucco itself will not go bad unless other parts of the home/building are not maintained and succumb to damage.
